Teryiaki Sauce or Marinade 2

I know I've posted a teriyaki marinade and sauce before, but I love this stuff and I'm always looking for the perfect recipe. My previous recipe is pretty good, but there is something about this one that makes it a little better. All I know is that it's good. If you're looking for a great sauce or marinade, give this a try. You can use it as a marinade on anything, or just mix up the ingredients, warm them up a little and serve it as a sauce. Either way, you're going to get a great tasting dish!

Teriyaki Sauce or Marinade

½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
½ cup sugar
¼ cup vegetable oil
4 green onions, chopped (white and green parts)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1/3 cup toasted sesame seeds, optional

For Marinade:
Combine all ingredients and pour over beef, pork, chicken, or seafood. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Remove meat from marinade before cooking.

For Sauce:
Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan. Heat over medium heat until mixture thickens slightly and pour over desired dish. If using in a dish that will continue to cook, you can just pour the unheated sauce over the meat and let it cook with your meat or vegetable

*Any time you marinate raw meat, poultry, or seafood, you must bring the marinade to a boil and simmer for five minutes (to kill any bacteria) before using to spoon over the cooked product (or rice, veggies, etc.).
